Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my water heater needs replacing?
Age over 10–12 years, rust-colored hot water, rumbling or popping sounds, moisture or corrosion at the base, or inconsistent temperature are the classic signs. A leak from the tank itself can't be repaired — that's a replacement.
Should I get a heat pump water heater?
If you have an electric tank and a basement or utility space with reasonable air volume, a heat pump water heater can cut water heating costs by more than half, and Mass Save rebates are substantial. We'll tell you if your space qualifies.
Can you replace my water heater today?
